Maxim introduces high-speed USB 2.0 automotive-grade protector
Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. introduces the MAX16919/MAX16969, a high-speed USB 2.0 auto-grade protector with iPod/iPhone fast charge detection and USB host charger detection for all USB devices. The fast charge detection feature of this series of protectors supports high-speed USB (480Mbps) and full-speed USB (12Mbps) work, allowing users to easily charge their USB devices even while driving.
In addition, the MAX16919/MAX16969 is the only highly integrated automotive USB protector with a number of automotive application benefits, including: battery short circuit and ground short circuit protection, which fully meets the requirements of today's harsh automotive application environment for device protection. This family of devices has become the ideal choice for applications such as car radios, navigation, interconnection and USB hubs. Maxim also provides system-level modeling and simulation support to optimize system performance for different applications. Built-in host charger detection circuit and adjustable current function (3A) support fast and efficient USB peripheral charging. The BUS switch with the lowest on-resistance in the industry greatly reduces differential pressure and ensures USB compatibility.

This series of protection grade IC is an early launch of the company car USB protector MAX16942E MAX16943E/MAX16944E well complement, applicable to the car radio, navigation, and USB hub and other applications of the Internet.
